Free Solo [2018]

IMDB Rating: 8.2/10 This is one of the most mind-blowing climbing documentaries I have watched so far. It is based on the super bold climber Alex Honnold’s $3000$-feet ascend of the El Capitan, Yosemite National Park without a rope. This version of climbing is called Free Solo. The documentary was directed by alpine enthusiast, climber, and filmaker Jimmy Chin and his wife Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi.

The Dawn Wall (2017)

IMDB Rating: 8.1/10 This documentary movie is about the impossible freeclimb on the hardest route of the El Capitan, Yosemite National Park completed by Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson. The documentary movie shows Tommy Caldwell’s mind-blowing life-story including his missing fingers due to an accident and an incredible escape from Kyrgyzstan militants. And, how they completed that climb against all odds.

Meru (2015)

IMDB Rating: 7.7/10 This documentary movie is about the first ascend of the The Shark’s Fin, Himalayas completed by Jimmy Chin, Conrad Anker and Renan Ozturk. The documentary was also directed by Jimmy Chin himself and his wife Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi.

The Alpinist (2021)

IMDB Rating: 7.9/10 This documentary movie is about the boldest solos of an introvert versatile climber Marc-André Leclerc (1992-2018).
